Osteopathic Manipulative Treatments

Osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), also known as osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), is a core set of techniques of osteopathy and osteopathic medicine distinguishing these fields from mainstream medicine. It is based on a dogma devised by Andrew Taylor Still (1828–1917) which posits the existence of a myofascial continuity – a tissue layer that connects all parts of the body. The Practitioner utilize various osteopathic techniques to diagnose and treat somatic dysfunctions of the patient to addressing a variety of ailments, most commonly musculoskeletal pain, sport injuries and other systemic disease.
